State Fair Fare
Today I went to the Minnesota State Fair with my family. When we where there we got some really good food. Today was called the "Last Chance Day" because it was the last day of the fair. One of the really good things I shared with my dad was a boneless rib sandwich with fried onions on it. I also had some fried cheese curds the cheese in the curds was so gooey and melted. The outer fried shell had just the right amount of saltiness. I also had a Pronto Pup. That is is a corn dog but it has a healthier kind of batter on it. It's a tradition for my brother and I to get a Pronto Pup at the Fair. I also had a chocolate ice cream shake that I shared with my family. We usually end the Fair sipping one of these as we leave the Fairgrounds. The only disappointing thing we shared was some Garlic Fries. My family did not agree about how good they were. I thought they where good but all of Garlic would fell off in the little paper tray. My mom and dad tossed most of them away because they thought they were too disappointing. I am looking forward to next year at the Fair. Hopefully we taste some more good Fair food.

I kind of wish I had gone to the fair one last time. Just to eat some of that food! When I went the first day we had macaroons that were still warm from the oven at the new Salty Tart booth! This was my first year trying the scotch egg. I thought it was crazy great and I want to make one myself. It is a perfectly hard boiled egg wrapped in sausage, dipped in a batter and fried golden brown. they serve it on a stick and offer up horseradish, maple syrup, or honey mustard for dipping. It was awesome! Another first for me was the cream puff. Have you had this? Piet! you have to have this on your list of things to eat at the fair. It is over by Heritage Square behind the deep fried pickle. It stands about a mile high and is so good you will have a hard time sharing it. I am still craving the pig lickers from famous daves. They take hickory smoked bacon, dip it in chocolate and sprinkle sea salt on them. I want one more!! I sure like your descriptive words. They make me hungry.
